There was a time when I never slept on Sunday nights at all. From about 3 pm on Sunday, my anxiety levels would rise and by bedtime, I would often reach for a Nytol tablet. After a while, the Nytol became less and less effective and sometimes, I might be awake all night. I know that lack of sleep is terrible for weight loss because it raises our cortisol levels. The standard advice to people like me is to reduce my stress levels. Often that is easier said than done. These days sometimes Mondays are stressful just because I expect it to be and it can set a terrible tone for the rest of the week. I have overhauled my sleep hygiene habits and will tell you how in another post.
I managed, however, to make all my training sessions during the week. On Monday I actually managed to get in some cardio on my own so my session with Odell was about working my upper body using the pulleys and then he would follow these by asking me to do press ups and so on. On Tuesday, the session was brutal. I arrived a bit late so Odell said I had to work harder to make up missing time. So it was running on an incline on the treadmill, then off the treadmill to do 20 jumping jacks, back on the treadmill for a couple of minutes and then back off to squats and so on. I also made my sessions on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

I weighed myself and I have lost a bit more weight. I am now down to 152 lbs which means I am now under 11 stones in weight. I am 10 stones and 12 lbs to be precise. I only need to lose 6 more lbs to reach BMI 25 for my height. Last year I managed to come down to 149 lbs meaning I was 3 lbs away from BMI 25 but for some reason, I could not close the deal. I hope that I can do better than last year and reach 146 and then work towards what I think is my final goal of 130 lbs. Fingers crossed.
My left ankle is so much better. I only feel pain when I touch particular spots at the top of my foot. I can do everything else including running without feeling any pain.
I have been in my head a lot this week. I think this has been reflected in my Instagram posts. I plan to embed more and more of my posts into this blog as soon as I can resolve the technical hitch that is preventing the Instagram posts from embedding so watch this space.
Until next time, it’s
